A recent UBC study, conducted for the City of Vancouver, found that a large oil spill in Burrard Inlet could result in significant losses to economic output and GDP in British Columbia. Ocean-dependent tourism alone, could face $454 million in lost output and $325 million in lost GDP (over 25 years).
